ZILS FOR THRILLS with Rebeka of Visalia Accompanied
by a live drummer, (John Rocha) this workshop will cover the foundations of using zils (finger cymbals) in the various bellydance
rhythms typically used in performance - longa, beledy and chiftetelli. Rebeka will offer tips and shortcuts to help
you learn how to play the zils in a unique and rhythmic way - you will learn how to switch from using mosely one leading hand
(which inhibits the speed) to using both hands in an equal and balanced manner as used in tribal style. This process
will be easy, logical and fun! Practice a sequence of steps and hand/arm movements to develop coordination between zil playing
and dancing. By the end of this workshop you will have enough information and practice that will set you on your way
to becoming an excellent zil playing bellydancer.
